What I liked about this book was its description of how the 2001 Diamondbacks win over the Yankees helped America recover from 9/11. The author describes how, just a little over a month after the World Trade Center fell, the City of New York rallied in incredible enthusiasm over the fabvulous seven-game Fall Classic played in Arizona and the Big Apple. Osam bin Laden wanted to make America and New York scared to live, to spend money, to congregate in large crowds, to destroy our economy. Surely when he heard that the very opposite of what he wanted is what actually happened, when standing ovations greeted George W. Bush and Rudy Giuliani at Yankee Stadium. Some day when the CIA or Delta guys pick over his cave and exhume his body, they will discover that it was in October of 2001 that bin Laden realized that the War on Terror had been lost by him and won by the American spirit.
