This woman knows dogs, and she is passionate about them! Ms. Ferrell's book offers lots of practical advice, but not only about basic dog care. She also tackles more complex issues such as the deeply personal relationships so many of us have with our dogs. This book is funny, too. It is my new favorite dog book.

Ms. Ferrell has an engaging writing style that holds the attention of even those who consider themselves nonreaders. It's a book that can be read cover to cover or picked up for advice on a particular problem or a dose of entertainment. This book is one I one consider a foundation volume for anyone building a dog library. Destined to become a classic.

Awesome Book

This book covers everything you would want to know about being a responsible dog owner. I found her advice on dealing with the loss of a pet extremely helpful after losing my dog. It is not all serious, she includes alot of humorous antedotes which make it an enjoyable read. If you are a dog owner make this book your bible!
