Della has been battered since childhood. After recovering from an attempted murder, she is sent to live apart from her family. While in recovery, she becomes addicted to drugs and alcohol. After recovering, she moves to Oregon to begin a new life in college. Old beyond her years, Della is determined to succeed. She completes college and joins the WAF. Her first assignment exposes her to sexual harassment from an officer in her chain-of-command. No one will believe her and she has no help in solving the problem She must deal with the situation in her own way. The battle against sexual discrimination is still active today. Della's generation of WAF pave the beginning of new policies that help; but until GENDER BIAS is completely ended, all women and men in the Armed Services will have to remain aware and guard against sexual discrimination in our military ranks.
