Nudist colony? Did he have to put that in the book?

I don't know why the author couldn't have come up with a better plot device than having Zac stumble upon a nudist colony. It didn't further the story and it meant I had to do damage control for my 6 year old. I made a joke of it, hoping to not have to talk about why people would be naked on an island. I shouldn't have to worry that there might be a concept in his books that I feel he's not ready to discuss. In the first book of the series, Poison Island, I took exception to the fact that the author had Zac tasting three unknown substances looking for the miracle cure. I had to make sure my son understood that you don't ever drink or eat anything that you don't recognise and that you don't know are safe for you. I gave this book 4 stars because my son loved the story and except for this problem, I thought it was well written. I hesitate to buy book 3, however, because I don't know what other uncomfortable subject will come up in it.
