it was good, not great, but entertaining enough. i liked the characters, i really liked the setting. food was intertwined through it, including real recipes at the end. (i plan to make the french cookies, palmiers!) the mystery was good. there were plenty of suspicious characters, but no sure suspect. one thing of note, to me, anyway, there was no love story associated with this book. a couple possible set-ups for the future. that was a little bit refreshing for me. i feel like they all think they have to have that in every book, and honestly, sometimes it overshadows the story a bit.
i think i would read the next one, to see what happens next.
