Twisted, thrilling and suspenseful. Gilmore's novel captures the high profile life of a gamer, and the washed up world of a detective entangled within a murder. Imaginative plot makes the book a quick, but fascinating read. Definitely recommend for those who enjoy living life in the fast lane of fiction.
My first pulp novel

James Gilmore's "Dead Rite" was dead-on when it came it creating a taught plot, vivid characters and a thoroughly modern sense of life in L.A. He takes some cues from the pulp fiction genre with great characters and some suspenseful action sequences that move the plot along extremely quickly. It's not a thick book-- I read it in one weekend. It's a juicy read.
Loved the characters and vivid details

I loved this book! It took me a while to read it since most of my available time was while fighting to commute on the subway. I really missed it when I was finished! I am not a book critic, but I thought the author did an awesome job of bringing the details and characters to life. I hope he'll write a sequel.
