Darkness Out of Light interweaves moments from Dave's past with his current life. Dave's struggle to resolve his past continues to harm his happiness. His writing career is put on hold while he plans his wedding with Kristi. The darkness and light in his life lead him to make an excruciating choice. To find himself again, he must decide to live with the light in his life or return to the darkness that has consumed much of his life.
