Exceptional new writer

After finishing "Dangerous Lies" by Lisa Smith, I have to say I was immensely pleased. Lisa Smith wrote a tale of suspense, heartbreak, humor and love. The story kept you wanting to turn the pages, expecting an outcome of Jake and Tina finally getting it together. The surprise ending is what I really liked. Naturally, I'm a romantic and this is "supposed" to call for happy endings. Smith knows how to do a story in style. She has great characters, well defined. She has wonderful dialogue and a great plot. For this first time author, I predict she will be writing another great novel in the near future. Lisa Smith is well on her way to becoming another famous author. Steel and Roberts may as well move over and get out of the way. Lisa Smith has style, class and a "gift" for story telling. I can't wait for her next book to be published. I recommend this book to everyone.

Great new author

I loved this book, I just couldn't put it down. 1 chapter in and I was already telling people about it. This is the best book I have read in a long time.

Great Weekend Reading . . .

Dangerous Lies caught me off guard. I wanted a nightstand book -- you know, something to read for five or ten minutes before going to sleep. I did not expect to be up half the night turning page after page to find out what happened next. This first-time novelist is gifted at creating suspense and sculpting her main characters: Tina is tough but vulnerable; she lacks formal education but she embodies street smarts and class. Jake is in many ways her opposite. Do they ever get together? Will Tina survive the attempts on her life? Pick up the book to find out . . . but not before the weekend, or you'll find yourself staying up way past your bedtime.

Passionate danger

I loved it! Interesting development of characters, lots of twists and turns, moderate amount of sex, danger and excitment. Dialogue was true to life experiences. Good use of characters to keep you involved with intrigue from start to finish.

Great Thriller!

If you like thrillers with real character development and lots of twists and turns, put Dangerous Lies on your must read list. I assume that Lisa Smith is a newcomer 'cause I've not seen her name around, but I hope that she has a new one on the way. Lot's of fun.
