In the first summer of its opening, 'Camp Cutting Edge' experiences the tragedy of losing one of its children, Mason, after he falls into the rapids while white water rafting, when Teddy was horsing around with an oar. The camp closes for 3 years during the search for the missing Mason, who was never found.Upon reopening, psychotherapist Dr. Tulla is responsible for the care of Teddy and Billy; both with killer instincts. Lead Councillors Gloria and Kurt, and Chef Leo remember the two troubled boys; warning the others to keep an eye on them. Kitchen staff members Kelly and Shawn get side tracked when they stop at a local pub. Following which they crash into a tree while driving to camp. Kelly gets killed by Bernard, who doesn't like city folk. Shawn gets held hostage; chained and thrown in a cage in a shack in the middle of the forest. Shawn manages to escape.Sheriff Ed Hoover and Deputy Carl Swift get called in to find the missing Kelly and Shawn after getting tipped off that someone's been shooting a gun nearby. They find Bernard, responsible for Kelly's death. He's found, having been shot by his own gun. Teddy and Billy kill Dr. Tulla. Mason saves Councillors Gloria and Bethany; who had been tied up and were about to be stabbed to death by Teddy and Billy. Mason kills both Teddy and Billy, smashing in their skulls with the same Magnum flashlight.Sheriff Ed Hoover and Deputy Carl Swift arrive the next morning to sort out the mess. They arrest Chef Leo, as he's a known ex-con. Leo is thrown into a mental hospital because he keeps saying that a shadowy figure killed the boys. Mason is never to be found. Bethany gives birth to Teddy's child. Teddy haunts the survivors in their dreams, making each of them commit real life suicides; all except Gloria, Kurt, Shawn and Leo.
