Affordable, attractive, and timeless furniture for the home is made possible with this classic reference that features 32 easy-to-build classic country pieces, from small candle boxes and footstools, to large wardrobes and corner cupboards. With basic woodworking skills, a modest workshop (...all you need is a saw and a router), and a trip to the local home center, you'll be able to reproduce beautiful furniture that has endured for hundreds of years and is still wildly popular. Invaluable instructions in sequenced photographed steps, ready-to-use detailed plans, exploded diagrams, and complete material and cut lists are provided along with key woodworking techniques, such as routing dovetails or cutting a mortise and tenon joint, to gurantee success.
This is an outstanding book on making authentic early American country furniture. His instructions are some of the best I've ever seen published. The drawn illustrated plans are superior. The projects are real good and are based closely on originals. But please note: this is the same book by the author published by Rodale in 1999 with a slightly different subtitle.
