1974: by Gladys Taber- Writing about her Connecticut farm house and its lovely surroundings. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've enjoyed the Stillmeadow series since 1964 when I was 13 and had the measles. To keep me from being bored, my gran brought over an armload of magazines and I found one of Gladys's Diary of Domesticity columns. Since then, I've never stopped reading about Stillmeadow. And when life gets so stressful that I feel as though my head is about to explode ... I don't reach for a Valium or a bottle of bourbon ... I reach for a Stillmeadow book and instantly life slows down, and the tension drains away as I read about the time the peaches went away (one of my favorites). I highly recommend any of her Stillmeadow or Especially books. Life can't get much better than relaxing on the couch with a cup of tea at hand and a Stillmeadow book!
