Concerning The Queen Of The South

Our Savior calls her the" Queen of the South", (Matthew 12:42). And she is called in 1st Kings 10, and 2nd Chronicles 9, the "Queen of Sheba".We learn only a little about her from the Bible, but it is what happens in the telling of the story that is most fascinating. 1st Kings chapter 10 describes her visit to King Solomon;She came to test him with hard questions, but was she really breathless with passion rather than hard thinking? It's hard to tell, or maybe both. Nevertheless, according to the Kabra Nagast, or The Book of the Glory of Kings, she was supposedly seduced by King Solomon. Her lineage claims the ancestry to the decedents of King Menelek, the son of Solomon and Sheba presumably conceived on that momentous visit.Jesus promised that Sheba would have her day, that she would rise up in judgment; Jesus promised that the queen of Sheba still rises in judgment.
