Her hometown of Loomis, Louisiana, holds no charm for Jodie Gilmore. Why be reminded of her mother's abandonment? Then the novice FBI agent is assigned to a missing person's case, and refusal isn't an option. Her coworkers are counting on her. Surely the tight-lipped locals will talk to one of their own. Or will they? A decades-old double homicide is discovered, and Harrison Cahill, the handsome forensic anthropologist on the case, thinks Jodie knows more than she's saying. But speaking freely can be deadly in Loomis....
I picked up this book after my wife read it, and for the most part, was very satisfied with a mystery that wasn't peppered with profanity and unsavory characters. But what this book lacked was an explanation at the end for all the unusual activities that occcured. Perhaps since this is part of a series (albeit from other authors) some mysteries are explained in later books? Anyway, my only other comment is the romantic nature of the book was a bit awkward, with our heroine jumping in a bit fast with her heart in my opinion. So maybe it wasn't totally realistic. But I enjoyed the trip to Louisiana.

I absolutly love this "mini series". After each book i find myself checking daily to see if the next book has been released.
