Mickey Baker and the senior class of West River High School are two months away from completing the most successful tenure in the school's athletic history. They had won numerous league championships during the last three years capped off by a state basketball championship just weeks ago. The Eagles have one more opportunity to add to their impressive list of achievements, competing in the league's initial baseball season. Their excitement and anticipation of the upcoming baseball season is shattered when they are presented with a head coach, Dale Rockford, unlike any coach they have ever had. The arrogant and overmatched Rockford threatens not only to ruin the baseball season but also the legacy of Mickey and his lifelong friends and teammates. Despite the coach's attempts to divide the team, the players refuse to give in and battle to stick together and face this unprecedented challenge.
