I would highly recomend this book. It is a great account of the battles of the civil war and the ghost stories that follow them and in many instances, how the ghost stories were started. I especially liked the authors approach to the ghost stories and how many of them are just that, stories and others are really unexpainable and true acts of the supernatural. A book I will read over and over again

Take the modern ghost story format and add American Civil War history and you have Angus Konstam's Civil War Ghost Stories, a blend which will appeal to two distinct audiences: ghost story enthusiasts and Civil War buffs. Are there really ghosts of the war? The nation is haunted by the conflict and sightings of said ghosts are limited neither to North nor South. Chapters use the chronology of the war to survey accompanying ghost stories, and provide accompanying photos of artifacts and photos of famous haunted locations along the way.
