"Tonight would be a good time for him to ask," Stephanie says, but, Kevin, left at the curb three years ago by his wife of thirty minutes, is a little gun-shy.

Their three-year romance hits a dead end when down front at the Rigger Theater, with a full audience watching, Kevin falters then fails to propose when Stephanie draws her line on the stage.

She accuses him of pining for Ol' What's Her Name, and vanishes through the big red curtain

Stephanie is in-the-wind as soon as she can, moving her late-night call-in radio show to some far off, romantic town where it snows at Christmas- Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Lani agrees to the road trip, and they drive Stephanie's faithful Blazer, Old Blue.

Along the way they manage to blow up a car, get arrested, almost kiss a cop and find true love (at least Lani does).

Meanwhile, Kevin hasn't a clue to where she's gone- she's locked him out as far as communication is concerned, and he decides to visit his aunt and uncle for Chistmas.

Kevin, knowing nothing of Stephanie's trip, heads back east to visit relatives and attend a college buddy's wedding.

Kevin's car dies in Albuquerque. At Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo he learns he a butt-head from a cute blond coed. In Nashville, he buys a ring trio so he's ready the next time he meets the "right one."

In Lansing, MIchigan, at his college buddy's wedding, Kevin dances with the bride, Kylie (Ol What's Her Name ) He is satisfied that he is not carrying the torch for her.

Next stop: his aunt and uncles place in Sault Ste. Marie
