Very entertaining!

I had to purchase this book after reading Dwayne's story in A Dollar And A Dream(which was off the hook by the way) I picked that book up because I saw that he and I have the same name and I thought that was weird. Anyway, this novel did not disappoint! There was just enough drama to keep the pages turning. I loved his characters. I felt like he was writing about people I knew! I felt really bad for Roy. He didn't deserve what he got. And I'm glad Colin came around. As for Vic, well, it took a big man to do what he did. This was a great debut. I can't wait to read what he has coming next!

It's About Time

I had been hearing all of this talk about Dwayne S Joseph and his book, The Choices Men Make since the beginning of last year. When I went to purchase the book, it was no where to be found because it was sold out everywhere, then it got even worse when I found out that the book was out of print for some ridiculous reason. Finally, I found out that the book was reprinted and after reading A Dollar and a Dream, I rushed out and got a copy and believe me, it was worth it. It took me all of 5 hours to read this book. It had my attention from beginning to end. I could relate to several of the characters and the entire book was well written. After reading The Choices Men Make and his contribution to A Dollar and a Dream, Dwayne Joseph is definitely one of my favorite new AA male authors. Kudos, Mr. Joseph and I look forward to reading a lot from you!!!

The Choices Men Make

After purchasing this book (somewhat reluctantly, I might add) from the author at a cultural arts festival, it took me several months to decide to read it. I didn't want to read a book about another man "dogging" out another woman, but purchased it to "help" out a new author (and, it had added value because he agreed to sign it for me). Before departing, the author's comment to me was "let me know how you like it, my e-mail address is included." Well, one day after picking it up for the umpteenth time, I decided to read it. I absolutely and positively loved, loved, loved this book. I was drawn into each character as if I had a personal relationship with them. Immediately, there were characters I liked; some I disliked; some I disliked and then liked; some I liked and then disliked. After all my contemplations about not wanting to read it, I could not put the book down (even got upset when I had to lay it down to work, sleep, etc.)!Well, it's been several months since I completed the novel and it remains strong on my mind to date. The author is to be commended on his gift of realism and his God-given ability to put to penmanship a novel that draws its readers into the story as if they were there (in reality, some of us have been there). I found myself remembering the "choices I made" and regretting them all too soon in the relationship, but was not strong enough to get out until the situation became intolerable. The book opened a wave of emotions within me that have forced me to think about my future "choice(s)" and the impact they have not only on me but others, as well. This book has had a profound impact on my life and has helped me in keeping it real. I thank the author for overlooking my reluctance and for encouraging me to purchase his novel. It is one of the few purchases in my life that is not just an addition to my library, but more importantly, a gift to my soul.I look forward to adding any and all future books to my library by this author, as I will remain an avid, loyal and thankful reader. The Choices Men Make

I would recommend this book to everyone. It is a book about choices, not only for me but for women also and sometimes we make choices we all regret in life. Read this book and you will understand what I mean. ENJOY

Outstanding

To start off this book just kicks A$$. It is an easy to read and fast paced book. Just a few pages into it, you can really get to know & understand the characters. It is so well written and in such a manner that you get wrapped up in the characters. It has several key elements: Love, DRAMA, Humor, growth of characters. So if you want a book that will keep you interested until the end (which has a great ending), then definitely purchase this book by an up and coming author....... You GO Dwayne!!!
