Book Overview

Be Brave Celebrate and Eat Chocolate
Every woman knows that courage isn't just something you find in a crisis, it's something you tap into every day of your life. In this triumphant salute to mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and colleagues, these 77 true-life stories celebrate women at their best -- willing to take risks, stand up for family and friends, find the love they need, claim their true spirit, laugh at their own foibles, and celebrate someone else's success.
Once again, Kay Allenbaugh has called upon women of all ages and backgrounds to share their own experiences as well as the strength and wisdom that have helped them through everyday challenges and difficult times. Here are tales about surviving loss, showing compassion, getting fired (and getting even), facing illness, laughing at yourself when the chips are down, and stopping long enough to enjoy sweet success This volume in the beloved Chocolate series celebrates a softer element of courage -- kind yet strong, loving yet steadfast -- exploring the many subtle ways courage manifests itself in day-to-day life. This book is sure to feed your hunger for courage

Life is a Box of Chocolates

Some are nutty, others very sweet, then there are the bittersweet ones, and then the rich mocha varieties. A celebration of womens' lives that mirror "sometimes life is a box of chocolates" a la Forest Gump.

A great quick read! Inspirational!

I really enoyed this book. Kay Allenbaugh has done an excellent job selecting contributors for this book. It's a nice, quick read with many short stories and essays which I found inspirational. Of course, you may want to check out a story called "Abby's Fight". It's a story which I submitted about my daughter's hospitalization as a newborn. O.K., I'm biased. But I would have enjoyed this book anyway.

Real People, Real Stories

This anthology is another jewel in Kay Allenbaugh's crown. With story after story of triumphant courage, the reader finds her spirit being lifted higher and higher. As with the other Chocolate books, the stories from everyday people never fail to touch and lighten our hearts.

Stories to Boost Your Spirits

Kay Allenbaugh has a talent for selecting stories for her anthologies. In this case she has put together 77 short pieces which are guaranteed to put spring in the step of the average Jane. These personal essays and tales are just what the elves ordered for Christmas this year!
