These chickens aren't so chicken! When Mother Hen takes her little chickens to the playground for the first time, they feel a little timid. It's crowded and exciting--but also a little scary. As they watch the big dogs, cats, and pigs play on the seesaws, merry-go-round, and swings, the little chickens aren't sure they want to participate. But when they see the little mice and frogs sliding down the sliding board the little chickens reconsider. This beloved story, back in print, is about overcoming fears and doing things for the first time with the help of new friends is now back in print! "Just the ticket for any little chicken whose courage could use a boost."--Publishers Weekly "A perfect choice for a day-care read-aloud or one-on-one sharing."--School Library Journal
My 2 year old absolutely loves this book about a couple of chicks taking their first trip to the playground with their mother. They are afraid of trying things at first and eventually decide to try the slide. They discover that once they are over their initial fears (with help from a Beaver) they love it. My daughter says "whee!" along with the text when characters slide down the slide. A lot of fun for my daughter and a book that I really enjoy reading:)
