Nice surprise

I just finished reading this story to my 8 year old daughter. We read about two chapters a night and she kept begging me for more each night. This story focuses on friendship, Christianity in daily life, misconceptions of others based on appearance and rumors, helping people in need, facing your fears, and standing up to bullies. I have read hundreds of children's books and "Chelsea's Special Touch" ranks in the top 3 percent. The messages of inspiration are not "in-your-face" and the challenges allow the reader to think about how they would solve each obstacle. As a parent, I like children's stories that are not condescending to the reader, require some thought, and deliver a life lesson without being corny. This book does just that and I highly recommend it for the 8-12 year old. My five year old read with us one night and she enjoyed the story, but five is probably on the young end for this book.
