Darren Thompson is the lead agent for a CIA group tasked with seeking out supernatural resources for government use. As a skeptic, he anticipated the job leading to spoon benders and palm readers, but found powers like the wizards and gods of legend. He uncovers a sinister side to the group he first thought to be benevolent benefactors.Our protagonist is no angel, but over the course of his life finds a conscience. Darren's allegiance and motives become confused and reveal a hidden side to our battered hero. There is a third guild in the making and his role in its formation is pivotal.With the help of his wife Yuka, a psionic that he recruited, Darren goes on the hunt for members to fill the ranks of the guild they are creating. They take in people that the guild considered unworthy. The Earth guild grows with an internationally diverse leadership to fill its ranks. The guild rejected members show the true value of their talent.As the new group struggles to stay hidden and survive, new alliances are made. Black Market contacts are used leading to danger. Hope blossoms from a mystery when a new source of power is discovered. Where there was death, life brings hope and risk turns to reward. Darren becomes the first of a new order of magic users called channelers.When the clandestine plundering of the world can no longer be tolerated, the Earth guild takes action. A balance of power is attempted resulting in open war.
