Summer vacation is here, and Lizzie's less than thrilled. Why? Because her parents were less than thrilled with her report card-so they're sending her to science camp. Ugh! Luckily, her best friend,... This description may be from another edition of this product.

The second in what is shaping up into a great book series. Like the first installment of the series, this one nails the "Lizzie" experience. The characterizations, the interaction, the dialogue, everything screams "Lizzie". And it's evident that the author has done research, though in this case perhaps not enough. The only (minor) marring of this installment is a continuity flub. The character of Matt makes a reference to an event that happened in a certain episode of the television series, thus indicating that the events of this book take place *after* that particular episode. That episode ("The Greatest Crush of All") took place in Season Two (Lizzie's 8th grade year). The events of this book take place during the first week of summer vacation. Thus, it's supposed to be placed the first week of summer following Season Two.Yet this can't be the case. That particular time period in the timeline has already been filled in. The events of "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" take place during that period of time. That being the case, this story has to be moved to the summer following Season One instead. However, that minor flub aside, this is another phenomenal entry. The story is decent enough, and once again Matt's subplot is handled well. The whole gang's here. Lizzie, Gordo, Miranda, Kate; Ethan, Larry, Claire, Matt; Malina, Jo, everybody. But don't be fooled by the dust jacket summery. Lizzie is *not* sent to science camp because of bad grades. No where in the story does it say that. The reason for her going is Jo's thinking it a good idea since Gordo is going.Goaded into boasting about this project for the science fair held at the camp, Gordo opens himself constant danger and thrills as someone is out to get his plans! Is it his rival Tudgeman? Or is it someone else? Only Lizzie can find out for sure, with the help of her two best buds. Meanwhile, Matt's wrangled himself onto the trip and in cahoots with Malina is whipping up his own entry. All in all it feels like it could be a "lost" episode of the television series. If Disney were to ever do an animated version of the show featuring these takes on the character I'm sure it'd do decently. I recommend picking it up. I can't wait for more of these little mysteries!
