Cape Town, because it is the oldest city in South Africa, is known as the "Mother City". It makes sense because you could say it gave birth to all the other cities that sprang up after its inception. Like a mother, Cape Town will nurture you, care for you, offer you all things good .... And when you leave, you know you will find it hard to cut ties with such a beloved city. The magnificent Table Mountain, Cape Town's iconic landmark, is what comes to mind when one says "Cape Town." Perched, or nestling between the mountains, the ocean and a magnificent national park, this is a mother city with cultural heritage that spans over a more than 300-year lifespan.
