Brent Coleman, now retired lives in Hamilton, Mississippi, he has been recognized as one of the top law enforcement officers in Mississippi. There could be no more dedicated law official. A Southerner, he writes from the heart. Many of his stories reflect his career in law enforcement and others reflect his life-long interest in country music which he developed as a teen-ager while living in Nashville, Tennessee; others reflect his love for the old steam engine trains which began as he followed in the steps of his grandfather as a child. Some of his stories are informative, some are humorous but all interesting to read. For five years in a row he was voted Aberdeen's Most Outstanding Citizen in the Best of Aberdeen Contest sponsored by the Aberdeen Examiner. Under his leadership the City of Aberdeen had the lowest crime rate per capita in the entire Northeast Mississippi area. Chief Coleman has devoted his life to his work in law enforcement. His hobby, however, is pursuing his new-found talent for writing. One of Chief Coleman's stories was accepted for inclusion in the book, "Law and Disorder, The Lighter Side of Law Enforcement." Coleman authored "The Gulf Ordnance Plant 1942-45" which is a definitive history of the World War II munitions plant at Prairie, Mississippi. The journal has been recognized by the Mississippi State Department of Archives and History as an important contribution to the history of Mississippi.
