Was so fortunate to have this as a text 30+ years ago. It prepared me for further courses, and eventually engineering. There are a number of other fine calc texts out there. But this is a timeless classic. It is great for learning or review. If you get this, download complete solutions from Anna’s Archive as a learning aid.
plainly lucid

Had this book in my calculus courses as a first and a second year college student. One of the best university text books I owned in my entire undergrad curriculum. It is graphically (geometrically) explicit and the analytical content are very lucid. It was almost a culture shock because I had never been able to understand calculus with confidence before this book. It has now been 15 years since then, but I still refer to the book from time to time.

Best Calculus book ever...

When I was in high school back on Guam, my Calculus class used this book. At first, I was pretty intimidated about taking this class, what more being intimidated with the SIZE of this book. Throughout my senior year, this book helped me conquer my "fear of calculus" and ensured me that I was ready to take on college, where I am currently majoring in Mech. Engineering. Till today, I still have a copy of this book, which I use for reference. I highly recommend this book for both high school and college students who feel that "calculus is too hard"...but actually it's really FUN!
