Two sisters confront love, marriage, and a failing business in this ?charming and deceptively breezy second novel? (Publishers Weekly) that ?deftly explores big issues like loyalty, trust, sorrow, and... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I loved this book. But, I've loved ALL Sara Lewis' books. She writes with heart and kindness and wit. Her characters are true and funny and real. Sure, they are experiencing a lot of the same kinds of problems you and I are, but reading about their lives sheds light on my own. Oh, and also I'm entertained! It is a wonderful thing to be able to read a book about people who want to "get it right". People who aren't out to maim and mutilate each other. People who might have had a few bumps in the road of life but manage to pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and fall in love again, both with a new mate, as well as with the experience of being alive.
Light, humorous read

I agree with the other reviewers on this page who say that the book's easy writing style does not tax the reader's intelligence. Also, it was no mystery who the thief was. You could see that coming fifty pages away. Still, the book is a real joy to read. In book reviews, I've often come across the phrase "full of hidden little truths" and had little idea what that actually means. Well, this book is an example. The story is so familiar and touching, it was like my best friend had written it. I highly recommend this book.
Ordinary but enjoyable

I found Lewis's book very ordinary in terms of its theme but still enjoyable. I liked her writing because it was simple and easy to understand. Her narrative is not one of those that require the reader to exert themselves to understand everything fully. It's a story of two sisters, a mother and her two children, her relationship with a mysterious guy, and her relationship with her ex-husband. It's funny at times and a good read.

Luckily my family didn't need me for much once I picked up this fun book. Sara Lewis delightfully describes her characters so that you are involved with them immediately. I could have sworn she was writing about my brother-in-law--we were suspicious of him from the beginning, too!! It's great to read about real-life sister relationships . Our bookclub discussion of the book was very animated - we all wanted to share family stories. I laughed, I cried, and was totally surprised. You won't regret one minute of reading this one.
