The plot for Britons Pride is a result of 30 years thoroughbred racing experience and trips to England, Ireland and France for special racing meets. Research is detailed and based upon expert resources in the thoroughbred industy. Inspector Gordon Williams is a retired New Scotland Yard officer and modled after my son-in-law who retired from the Toronto Police after 30 years with the rank of Sergeant. My daughter also recently retired from the Toronto Police as well with just under 30 years experience. I used them for vetting anything I wrote about police techniques that are used in murder investigations. Chief Inspector Williams proved to be such a strong character that I have used him in two more books.
