Guided only by the barrel of his pistol, former deputy marshal Gideon Hawk no longer abides by conventional laws. Known as the Rogue Lawman, he serves his own brand of justice by carving his way through the West, leaving fallen criminals in his wake... This time it's Hawk who's been tracked down. The same governors who had a death warrant on Hawk's head now desperately need his help to end the bloody carnage sweeping the Southwest... A gang of merciless Apaches, along with their leader, a turncoat called Wilbur "Knife-Hand" Monjosa, are on the loose. Losing his hand to a Mojave axe, Monjosa replaced his bloody stump with a razor-sharp knife. He's a savage who'll cut down anything in his way... Knife-Hand can only be matched with the kind of ruthlessness that burns within the Rogue Lawman. Monjosa's killer instinct is as sharp as his hand, but Hawk's fighting with something mightier than anything in Knife-Hand's artillery--a personal vendetta...

"I know what you're thinking,Sheriff-take down the crazy Rogue Lawman and maybe get promoted to mayor or even U.S. marshal. But the only name you'll make for yourself will be chiseled on a tombstone." Another great novel in Peter Brandvold's exciting series of the Rogue Lawman, otherwise known as as Gideon Hawk.In this fast-action Old West tale we travel throuhh S/W Colorado with Hawk in pursuit of one of the worst desperados one can expect to encounter. What else could you expect with a guy carrying a handle of Wilbur "Knife-Hand" Monjosa. This character lost his hand and had it replaced with a long knife which he learned to use with merciless efficiency. He took pleasure in opening man, woman or child from stem to stern with this evil weapon. The scourge of the west, with a large band of followers and several well protected hideouts;did not deter the Rogue Lawman from using everything available to him to bring this madman down.Things look real bad when "Knife-Hand " captures Hawk and has him unarmed in his hideout. However, don't discount the Gatling Gun that Hawk finally gets hold of.When it gets down to a couple versus a large evil gang;Hawk doesn't let the niceties of the law get in his way as he turns it on the gang and mows them down for buzzard food, and a good service done for justice and the people. If you haven't read other novels by Brandvold;you're missing out on one of the best Old West writers around today.
