The only disappointment about this third book in a mystery series, is that it was the last one. A visit to the author's website confirms that the series died for lack of timely marketing or publisher's support. That is a real bummer because this is a great book. I found this and the 2nd one "Death on Route 66" in a used bookstore, and both mysteries have been gems. This one though was really well-crafted with wonderful plot twists and chuckling humor. I really wish there were another ten or twenty Taggart Roper stories to track down. Then again, Eastern Oklahoma probably is grateful to have escaped the very observant wit revealed in Sanders' sense of place.
