Belinda Eaton is dedicated to her job as a history teacher in one of Philadelphia's most challenging high schools. Committing to a man? Not exactly on her agenda. But then a tragedy brings her closer to gorgeous attorney Griffin Rice and they have to share custody of their twin goddaughters. Griffin never saw himself as husband or father material. But suddenly family vacations and Sunday dinners with the girls are the highlight of his schedule--and getting closer to their smart, intriguing godmother is his number-one priority. Can he teach her that their partnership has turned into a loving relationship powerful enough to last?
A GREAT start to the Eaton series...enjoyed the HEATED verbal sparring between Griffin and Belinda...they are two LIVE WIRES...and once they realize they are attracted to one another the SPARKS definitely start to fly...Sabrina and Layla are simply ADORABLE...and the secondary cast of characters aid in keeping the story flowing...I also learned some INTERESTING historical tidbits throughout...a SWEET read.

Belinda Eaton has been thrusted into parenthood with a man she can't stand. When her sister and Griffin's brother are killed in a car accident, Belinda and Griffin are left to raise their twin daughters. Belinda is a sensible history teacher that likes organization and structure. Then there is Griffin, the fun loving sports attorney uncle who doesn't have a clue how to be a father but is willing to give it his all. Belinda is pleasantly surprised at what a good father Griffin is. She also notices that the dislike she has had for him was actually masquerading her true feelings. Can Belinda let go and explore those feelings? Bittersweet Love is an excellent book by Rochelle Alers. It is an easy read that flows very well. The characters are very believable and relatable. This is the first book in a new series. Alers does a wonderful job introducing the Eaton family and piquing your interest for future Eaton novels. Reviewed by Tenecia for Urban Reviews

Belinda Eaton and Griffin Rice have not been able to tolerate each other since high school but end up being the godparents to twin sisters. When a tragedy causes Belinda and Griffin to share the custody of his brother and her sister's daughters they both begin to see the sides of one another both had overlooked. Belinda finds that Griffin is more than just a high powered, woman chasing sports attorney and he in turn finds Belinda's "nasty" side. Rochelle Alers has given the reader an enjoyable read with independent and feisty Belinda and another family, the Eatons to look forward to reading about.
