This rather small (6"x4-3/8") regional "field guide" is large in value for many northwest birders. The guide includes opening pages with photos and reference pages for the most common birds an observer might encounter, "Introduction," "Identifying Birds," "Attracting Birds to Your Yard," "Bird Habitats," where to bird, a resources list, and the Species Accounts that includes a selection of photographs for each species that are mostly excellant and include plumage variations where most important, and an index that doubles as a checlist. The text facing each full page of photo(s) is brief, but very informative and includes space to keep a date and location of each species when first observed. The three authors are commended for their high quality effort.

The books came quickly and were in excellent condition. I am impressed with the photographs and the text. This book is the perfect size to take bird watching. There are additional interesting facts that make this book increase the joy of birding.

The book is very informative and accurate. In my copy there is a publishing error that causes some confusion in page numbering.
