This is a devotional style prayer resource for the person in the pew to use during Christmas Time. It contains a series of narrative poems/stories that are inspired by the Ignatian principles of contemplation and imaginative prayer. Fr. Daly creatively reimagines the familiar stories of Christmas Time and invites the reader to think about the reaction of the characters who surround the birth of Christ and the beginning of his ministry. It is structured around each feast of Christmas Time (the Nativity of the Lord; the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph; Mary, the Holy Mother of God; the Epiphany of the Lord; and the Baptism of the Lord) and includes short introductions to each feast. Each feast is accompanied by one newly commissioned piece of artwork. It concludes with an invitation to prayer, explaining the method of prayer in a bit more detail and inviting the reader to try it with other Scripture readings throughout the year. Also included in the printed resource will be a guide for using the devotional in small group settings (with adult faith formation group, youth ministry groups, and families). There will also be an online only supplement (accessed via landing page and access code) that has more stories from Fr. Daly that did not fit into the book. Additional resources that could possibly be included on the landing page include short video narrations of the poems.
