The Sudoku craze took the world by storm, but now puzzle addicts are hungry for new challenges. This 'variety pack' of Japanese logic puzzles not only includes the new favourite, kakuro, but also introduces the addictive brilliance of hanjie, the deceptive simplicity of fillomino and the deductive reasoning of mosaic. Teasing, playful and extremely satisfying, this collection shows that there is more to Japanese puzzles than just the S-word.
This is a good mix of puzzles. If you like Japanese logic puzzles then I completely recommend this book.
Thankfully, no sudoku

I really like pencil puzzles, and I graduated in math, so you think I'd love sudoku. I don't for some reason. And, luckily, there's no sudoku in this book. I found this book, because I started playing this game called Slither Link online, and that's one of the 7 or so different puzzles in this book. I was familiar with a few of the puzzles, and some are new, so it's a nice balance between stuff I already knew and introducing me to cool new puzzles. The binding will probably fall apart by the time you're done with the book, especially if you're like me and rip out a few pages to give to friends to use. But none of the puzzles go over the pages--each puzzle is only one one page, so it's not that big of a deal if the pages fall out. You can always just stuff a few pages in another book, and take that with you.
top quality puzzles

The editors have assembled a set of puzzles that explores the various patterns and approaches of each puzzle genre. The collection does not feel the least bit repetitive. This is one of the two most satisfying puzzle books I've had the pleasure of owning (the other being Mensa's "Challenge Your Brain Math & Logic Puzzles").
