Ella Mansfield lives a dull and dreary life. Living on the meager paycheck from her dead-end job, she is unprepared for the old man who gifts her with a magical necklace. She is even more unprepared for the gorgeous man named Quentin, who walks into her life and turns everything upside down. Ella and Quentin are tossed headfirst into the magical maelstrom of a struggle between good and evil, with the end of the world as we know it, is threatened by an evil man. Ella struggles with her newly found magic, and her newly found feelings for Quentin. Is he as good as he seems to her? Or is it only her heart speaking for her passion-numbed brain? Believe the Magic stretches the imagination, with time travel, faeries, and witty dialogue. It does have a slow start, but the story does pick up farther in, as does the action and romance. The suspense and interaction between the characters is well done and the storyline is interesting. I did find it a slow read, but in the end it proved worth the time invested.
