Funniest children's book other than Roald Dahl

One of my teachers read this to our class in 5th grade and we thought it was the funniest thing ever. Re-reading it as a grad student, it's just as hilarious and is a great reminder of how clean humor can still work. Of course the plot is completely unrealistic, but it doesn't matter as this is a COMEDIC novel.
