Charley Hanna, town marshal of Dry Creek, Colorado, is about to experience many unpleasant things over the next few days and nights as Dry Creek is set upon by Noah Murphy and his killer gang. Somehow Noah gets the feeling that his brother, whom Noah has recently shot to death, has revealed to Charley and a couple others where stolen money is hidden. This is a novel about bad men laying seige to a town, but it is also a book concerning more than good and evil, in the harm that lies and gossip can cause. How those near truths, lies and outright slander can divide a once peaceful town into two armed camps. Though Charley will 'lose' the town in a manner of speaking he will gain the love of his life. Few westerns offer the combination of excellent writing, good story, and interesting characters as this book by Cameron Judd. If you are anything like me, and enjoy an excellent western, then pardner this is the one for you. And the good news is: there are many other books in print by this author as well. Semper Fi.
