First - what a fun book! I was listening to the audio version and suddenly had some deep insights about my relationship with money. I'd been trying to collect some late payments from a client. I thought I was taking action, but nothing was happening. Listening to this book, I realized I had been thinking about it the wrong way, and the action I had been taking was ineffective. I immediately knew what to do, took a more appropriate action, and collected all the outstanding debt, not just the late part - $16,000 altogether.

A practical book offering lots of perspectives and angles, covers a lot of ground quickly, and then

This book is actually (pleasantly) deceptive in that it is a thin book but it has so much in it. I've been in the field for around 13 years and this was passed to me to look at and I've pretty much read most things on this subject and I work with others on it, I'd say this book covers a lot of things, it gives a lot of perspectives on a lot of things. The book is quite broad in what it covers and is great for someone new to LOA, which is what I have put the rating for it at. For myself I would give it 4 stars (because I have covered so much other stuff and I'm looking to add more depth to that) but I didn't want that to take away from the value people can receive in reading this. I wouldn't say it has a lot of 'fluff', it's fast moving and covers a lot of ground. The book gives a lot of practical ways to think and perspectives on ways to think. Other books might have more content on 'what' LOA is in terms of the science of it etc and this does say what LOA is at the start and swiftly moves on and covers, in a simple and easy to understand way, ways of practically applying and looking at the scenarios in your life to working with them. It's not a book that's 'just a read' but one that can be practically useful too

Daily reminder to stay on track.

David Hooper's new book is a gem. I especially found useful the section on finding your dream job. Locating one's passion and striving for tangents thereof, even if they don't seem "perfect" at the time, likely will eventually lead to a fulfilling, motivating and joyful career. How nice it would be to wake up every day looking forward to your work-time activities instead of just working to "make a living". Living to enjoy one's work is a foreign idea to me thus far, but I intend, by following Mr. Hooper's advice and coursework, to change that for myself. Likewise, Hooper's advice to first BECOME that which we want to attract in a mate, friends, etc. makes perfect sense. Actually outlining specific items, then categorizing and prioritizing them is a wonderful suggestion - one worth journaling. I found the book on audio a constant driving companion for weeks. I now pop it in every time I need a refresher or a pick-me-up. As usual, Hooper's straightforward style makes sense. A "must-have" book or CD for daily guidance.

'Whatever you think about and focus on the most, you'll tend to attract into your life'

David Hooper is a pragmatist - and an Idealist in the finest sense of the term! In this brief book ASK BELIEVE RECEIVE: 7 DAYS TO INCREASED WEALTH, BETTER RELATIONSHIPS, AND A LIFE YOU LOVE he avoids kitschy nonsense and in a bow to the time constraints of even the most devout 'self-help' addicts, he succinctly outlines his simple but pertinent methods for making changes. The book is best read in the manner in which Hooper suggests: there are seven days to approach the different aspects of altering our lives by applying the principals of attraction, and to take advantage of his ideas requires the brief time to read his day's comment and then to apply it. 'Here's how it works: Your thoughts trigger your emotions. Your emotional state emits a specific "frequency" of energy to the universe. In turn, the universe returns events and experiences into your life that correspond with your emotional frequency'. With this bit of advice Hooper then proceeds through the topics of 1) How to attract money into your life, 2) How to attract ideal relationships, 3) How to attract your best health, 4) How to attract you dream job, and 5) How to attract everything needed for a successful business. Throughout the book Hooper drops little gems, like 'Allowing actually means to be in a state of non-resistance', that on first glance seem rather obvious, but in the manner in which he incorporates common sense into his program for life enhancement they work very well. In a world full of self help manuals it is difficult to find the ones that actually work. For this reader, this is one of those! Grady Harp, February 08

Worth every dollar.....

Power of attraction books and videos seem to flood the market and become fads that come and go. What sets this book apart and why I don't think its a power of attraction book, is due to the common sense honest advise the author gives. This isn't some new age religion or name it and claim it Christian book. Instead its a book that explains how you can change how you think and act, so that you have less negativity coming into your life. Now most books I review I do so beginning at the start of the book, but this one starts in the middle in section 63 titled ON A SIDE NOTE: How to Overcome Negativity from Others. Because its often those around us who can either build us up and make us positive or drag us down and make us question whether its even worth trying to improve our lives. He is correct. For the most part, positive people around negative people usually changes the negative person. And when this doesn't happen one needs to do what is needed to remove oneself from the negative environment. Yes, even if it means moving out of the home, or changing jobs. Attracting positive into ones life often means making changes we may not want to make. It's a choice. In the beginning of the book he gives some of the best financial advise I have ever read. Section 23 notes: Be grateful for the money you have now. 'This is obvious, but its something that people often overlook when they're focused on lack for to long'. Page 13, 'To start I'd like to ask you a question: How do you treat your money? If money were a person in your life, would he or she feel honored and loved, or, would your money feel abused, neglected and disrespected? "I know, you're thinking 'What? Disrespect and kindness for an inanimate object? Why?' "If someone treated you the way you treat money, you probably wouldn't stick around for abuse would you? Money won't either. Therefore, it is crucial to avoid these habits and activities where your money is concerned: Excessive spending Excessive debt Reckless disregard for the importance of money No savings plan Financial disorganization Poor planning You see, the problem isn't that you don't have enough money. The true problem is that you are not managing your money in a way that attracts more of it!" He then is specific about challenging the reader to stop getting sucked into what others think we should own and start being an adult and realize that we have to look out for ourselves and one more purse, pair of shoes, bigger tv and other material items arent going to make us richer or happier. Sections 25-43 are all about attracting the right partner into our lives and again the author is on target when he suggests we need to be what we want in someone else. That if we are willing to settle for the least, the least is what we will get. And taking a hard honest look at how much time we are willing to give to another person and as odd as it sounds, how to stop looking and simply be open to the right person coming into your life as
