Halfway through pharmacy school, I have purchased this book to give me an idea of my strengths and weaknesses as I prepare for the boards. I haven't taken boards yet, but I believe this will be very helpful. The format lends well to various study habits as you can work on as many or as few cases as you want at a time. The vignettes are based on actual cases, thus they are as realistic and sometimes as complex as we can expect to see in practice. Each case is presented with chief complaint, past medical history, social history, family history, review of symptoms, physical examination, laboratory and diagnostic tests, diagnosis, medication record, and pharmacists notes. The "extra" information is helpful for recalling key therapeutic indications/contraindications taught in class. It is also refreshing to see cases solely dedicated to OTC and herbal meds. The questions are clearly written and there is an explanation of each correct (or incorrect answer) in the back. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include a section of references to search for more detailed explanations to the answers.
