Goldingay examines five approaches to the interpretation of the Old Testament: as a faith, a way of life, the story of salvation, witness to Christ, and Scripture. This edition is enlarged and updated by a Postscript, which takes note of ongoing discussions in the field of Old Testament studies since the 1980s.
Goldingay's book gave me a good overview of an issue that I have often struggled with: how should a Christian interpret and apply the old testament? His other books on old testament interpretation, which i have not read yet, apparently go into more depth on the issues, but if you are new to the subject, this would be a good book to have. The extensive bibliography of relevant books also adds significantly to the book's worth, in my opinion.
