Ano 'Ano: The Seed has become a classic in Hawai'i and around the world. It tells of a group of seekers who are offered a "code of life": a way in which the suffering of mankind can be overcome. It’s... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I am only a dozen or so pages into The Fire Lily and I have to admit I am rather surprised as to (a) how quick this is to read, (b) how poetic it is in its writing (reminds me of the Tao te Ching in its flow) and (c) how truth resonates no matter who writes it. I am new to the whole Hawaiian philosophic/religious/mystical tradition, so I cannot say this is a good or bad introduction to said tradition. It is, however, a good eye-opener to how we should live our lives. We've all grown up learning these "rules", but sometimes we forget them. It also offers new ideas on how to approach this thing we call life. I highly recommend one read this, if for no other reason than to pick up a new perspective on old teachings and a new perspective on perhaps a different way to look at things. It does not ask you to believe its truth or that you follow it, only that you read it and decide for yourself if this truth will work for you.

I love this book. It answers a lot of questions that we might have as seekers of solutions. A lot of times, I just have my friends open to a page and read to see if it answers a question on their mind. It reads like poetry and always inspires. The aloha spirit and love of life shines through.
