New York Times bestselling author Hannah Howell traverses the embattled border between England and Scotland, where two warring families prolong centuries of discord. . . Storm Eldon was first caught up in the war between England and Scotland as a young girl, when she and her family were held hostage by their sworn enemies, the MacLagans. Years later, Storm finds herself trapped in the clutches of her Scottish adversaries once again. Now she must fight to preserve her loyalties, guard her virtue, and resist the charms of Tavis MacLagan, her handsome Highland captor. . . Praise for Hannah Howell and her Highland novels "Few authors portray the Scottish highlands as lovingly or colorfully." -- Publishers Weekly "Another classic." -- Romantic Times
I read this book years ago, when it was called Amber Flame. I have been searching for it for a long time, and finally found the old print on Ebay. It refered to the new title of His Bonnie Bride. This was the first Historical Romance Book I ever read, and to this day the Highland stories are my favorite. I probably read around 15 to 20 books a month in my free time, and I always go for the Scottish Historicals. I think it is due to the fact that this is a wonderful book, and I love to read it over and over again. You should try it, you will love it!!!!

This book is an absolutely excelent read! I have never read Hannah Howell, but, after this, I will definitely be reading more and more of her books. I loved Tavis and Storm!! What a sexy couple! Tavis was so wonderful and I loved the wya that the whole family was so good to Storm. The only part of the book that I didnt like is the part with Storm and Sholto in the stable. Other than that little page and a half the book is absolutely wonderful!! A keeper to go on my favorites pile!!!!
As always, a great story....

Tavis and Storm are perfect for each other. Storm is one of my favorites. She is strong willed, outspoken, honest and "calls a spade, a spade". She is incapable of mincing words. Ms Howell does a marvelous job expressing the true, deeper feelings of these two people. Couldn't put it down with so much going on in the story. Another great find at auction. If you can find a copy don't pass it up, it will be worth the search.
Maravillosamente!

Amber Flame was the first romance I'd ever read. In addition, it was also the first book I'd ever read in one sitting. To this day, when I read it, I'm still moved. The plot is great, the characters are believable and warm.
