From a part-time caregiver

Ami Simms has done a wonderful thing by publishing this book of the traveling exhibit of quilts. The quilts are fabulous, and the articles by the quilters who made them are wise, sad, and splendid. I have my own copy, and have given copies to friends who are dealing with the effects of Alzheimer's. Too many people have been lost to it - a cure is desperately needed.

Great book

If you haven't had a chance to see the traveling exhibit this book is the next best thing. Ami Simms runs the The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative and this book has a sampling of the thousands of quilts that have been sold to help raise money for a cure. This is a wonderful book. Beautifully written and each and every person should get a copy to have of their own.

The stories and quilts featured in this book are amazing. Some are funny, and some are sad but all are told in a heartfelt manner that tells you of the loss so many of us have felt when our loved ones have Alzheimer's. If you have ever seen these quilts and want a rememberance or if you are interested in how people view the loss of their loved ones, piece by piece, buy this book.
