When Dr. Oliver Fforde unexpectedly arrives at Amabel's guesthouse during a winter storm, he makes a lasting impression. Of course, Amabel doesn't expect to see him again. Yet every time she finds herself in a sticky situation, Oliver reappears Trying to be an independent woman is proving difficult with such a chivalrous and charming man on hand. In fact, Amabel can't help but wonder if their loving friendship could become something more....
Betty Neels has several formulas that she uses to create her sweet romances. One is the marriage of convenience which has a couple of versions. Another is when a Dutch doctor hires an English nurse to take care of one of his relatives in Holand. Always and Forever follows what is perhaps my favorite formula. A young lady is desperate for a job and home and the doctor feels drawn to help even though he is not sure why. One reason why I like this formula more than some of the others is that the doctor is very kind to the young lady-not arrogant or abrasive. A Neels novel which is similar is When Two Paths Meet. If you like one, you will probably like the other. Recommended.
An Extremely Sweet Story

Even though she was thrown in deep end, Amabel wouldn't give up to be independent & caring for her animals. Oliver would 'gallop' in to save her day without expecting gratitude or love in return. The side-plot, good & horrible people made the story so much more interesting. Wonderful HEA.
