21st-Century Performance appraisal Kyra Position Title -- Muse of Good Fortune Evaluated by -- Mighty Zeus, President, CEO, Top God Performance Assessment Kyra's performance has, quite frankly, been a disappointment over these past one hundred years. Our Muse of Good Fortune, despite her exceptional charm and unearthly beauty, has been slacking off, getting by on her looks, wiles, and considerable sex appeal -- not to mention her privileged position as the daughter of Mighty Zeus Himself Performance Objectives The best place on Earth for the Muse of Good Fortune to make a difference is . . . Las Vegas. Therefore Kyra is to spend one year at the famous Acropolis Casino, where she will inspire good fortune. During her sentence, she is forbidden from getting romantically involved with a mortal, and most especially not with Jake Lennox. This professional gambler-turned-investigator is too seductive and attractive for his own good. Besides, Jake has an agenda that may prove too dangerous for Kyra's soft heart. So, if she falls in love, all bets are off.
If you need something to help you escape from this world. This is a book to do it for you. I was laughing during most of this book with the misadventures of both the main characters. Heartwarming and fun. Excellent beach reading.
Great read!

Judi McCoy has crafted a fun to read book with an inventive plot, sexy main characters, and supportive secondary characters that add to the story without taking it over. Kyra's daily "tributes" to Zeus are hilarious and add depth to the character. Jake's concern for his mothers welfare shows his sensitive side without making him a "wimp". I highly recommend this book to everyone, it was a great read, with laugh-out-loud moments that have you rooting for the characters to get together the whole way!

Almost a Goddess is an entertaining, thoroughly enjoyable book. It has a fun setting (Las Vegas), likeable characters, and a delightful romance. The premise is interesting and unique. Judy McCoy does a terrific job of making you care about Krya and Jake. I read this book in one day, and highly recommend it.
A great fun read

Ditto, with the review above. A fun mix of fantasy and today's world. A new keeper from the author.
Fun light-hearted read

Kyra, the Muse of Good Fortune, is a daughter of Zeus. The only problem is her father thinks his daughter is doing a less than stellar job. After her performance review Zeus gives her one year to go to Earth and make its inhabitants believe in good luck again. What better place to go than Las Vegas? Only one condition. No flings with mortals. Jake Lennox is a gambler who accepts a job from his "uncle" to find out who's been causing money losses at his Las Vegas Hotel. And the first person Jake suspects is Kyra. Almost A Goddess is a fun light-hearted read that will have the reader falling in love with the characters. Kyra is an optimistic muse who struggles with 21st Century technology, including e-mails from Zeus. Jake is a good-hearted man who wants to do right by everyone he knows. When the two of them meet they find their way into each other's hearts. Readers will love watching the two fight their inner conflicts while they fight their attraction for each other. Add into that visits from Hermes and other goddesses and you've got a fun summer read that will make you thank your lucky stars you bought this book.
