Great cookbook for beginners-explains everything+ delicious

A cookbook that explains how to set up a simple kitchen, cook for one or for a party. Lots of recipes varying in complexity (and expense). Includes humorous sidebars and suggestions as to what music might be appropriate to cook to. Ideal for recent graduates who finally have to fend for themselves- EVERYTHING they need to know.
