The new world was an unspoiled frontier perfect for colonization, a virtual paradise of boundless beauty and limitless resources, untouched by human hands...but not untouched, as the unsuspecting colonists soon discovered. Now marooned on a planet infested with the deadliest Alien species ever encountered, the colonists learn firsthand the Law of the Jungle: adapt or become extinct. And a little helping hand couldn't hurt, inexplicably provided by the selfsame Predators who destroyed the colonists' ship and made them prisoners in paradise.
When the first AvP movie came out Dark Horse released a comic called Thrill of the Hunt, this was back in 2004. That comic didn't have much action and was mostly build-up, so naturally I was a bit annoyed that the first AvP comic to come out since the 90's didn't have much AvP action. Well this comic came out four years after TotH, and there are plenty of panels devoted to the violent deaths of aliens and predators, being killed of course by each other. The predators seem to come out on top in the end and the lead predator does something quite amazing. I wasn't too crazy about the story being set after Alien Resurrection, but I still enjoyed this comic a lot thanks to good art and plenty of action.
