a real winner

This book has grown on me over time. I never read it front to back, but rather, I just looked things up in it. I found that it covered a surprising variety of advanced topics (specifically, Beans, Security, JDBC, Swing, Networking, Servlets, graphics, threads, collections, XML and SOAP). The author provides a clear overview of each of these very disparate topics, along with small code examples that actually work. I recommend this one highly.
