To the outside world, Siena McMahon has a fairy-tale life. Born into a great Hollywood dynasty-granddaughter of movie legend Duke McMahon, daughter of billionaire producer Pete McMahon-she is blessed with beauty, brains, and wealth...a proverbial princess. Yet behind the wrought-iron gates of the sprawling McMahon mansion in Hancock Park, her life is far from idyllic. The McMahons are bound together not by love but by infighting and ambition. When a gold-digging English aristocrat, Caroline Berkeley, worms her way into their lives and their home, the family's potent mix of jealousy and wealth explodes. Packed off to school in England, Siena starts making plans to leave the moment she arrives. She is determined to become a Hollywood star in her own right-just as her grandfather had said she would be. And once back in L.A., the rejections, betrayals, and failures she'll face will only make her stronger and tougher than ever before. But at what price? In the utterly dysfunctional landscape of her life-among friends, lovers, and family-she must find the people who will help her survive, help her become the person she was meant to be, help her be truly Adored. Set in the most glamorous cities of the world-L.A., London, Paris, and New York-Tilly Bagshawe's debut novel is like the real-world Hollywood it mirrors: deliciously escapist, wickedly sexy, and always irresistibly compelling.
IF YOU LIKE JACKIE COLLINS, YOU WILL LOVE TILLY BAGSHAWE SHE IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR :) I absolutley loved this book, I have read it 3 times & it only gets better. I can't believe the negative feedback some poeple have left. This book has all the ingredients, Sex, Power & Greed. Duke McMahan & his graddaughter Sienna McMahan give us a ride through their Hollywood lives with all the highs & lows in the fast lane. It's full of all the juicy stuff like gossip, hot sex, greed, the disfunctionial family & their trials through life. It's fast pace keeps you well & truly hooked. I strongly recommend this book.

After reading the other reviews for this book, I realized that you either love this book... or hate it. I loved it. I couldn't believe so many people disliked it! I could not put this book down the entire time I had it. I love the way Bagshawe presents several different stories, that eventually come together in the end. I strongly reccomend this book. I absolutely loved it.
perfect beach escape from reality: fun

I don't normally allow myself the "guilty pleasure" of novels, except when on a plane and then it's a murder/legal thriller. (I read a lot of non fiction: political/conspiracy in nature). So this type of reading was totally new for me. I wanted- and I got- somethig that would keep me page- turning while soaking up the great Padre Ile sun. Admittedly most of the characters were not likeable, yet I was still keenly interested in following the evolution of their lives. Unlike many ot the other reviewers here I did not find this read predictable. And I was also never "lost" in her jumping from past to present, in fact I enjoyed this style. I literally could not put this book down. (Have never read Jackie Collins so can't do that comparison). The sex scenes were ok; movies these days are far more lurid. I was not looking for racy sex, but what the book advertised: a great beach read. I was not disappointed in the least and will get her next book. Dawn Meredith Austin, Tx.
Jackie Collins for a whole new generation!

For those of us who read Jackie Collins but hate waiting years for a new JC book to come out, this book is the one for you! From the first page through the last, you will find lots of sex, dirty language, hollywood gossip, back stabbing, trials and tribulations and a very comfortable ending. For those of us that like to get away from our daily routine and just read a book for the fun of it, give this new writer a try! I don't think you will be dissapointed.
What did you expect?

I expected a fun fluff beach read taking me to the world of Hollywood, sex, scandal, etc. And that's exactly what I paid for and got. So Tilly Bagshawe gets five stars for providing what she set out to do. This book reminded me of the world Jackie Collins used to write about (including the sex scenes). So if you are looking for something fun for the summer, I would suggest this book. If you are looking for a more in depth read, skip it.
