The fastest read of my life. This book flowed so well I had to stop myself from sneaking ahead. Wojciechowski has a gift that he must share again and again. Like I said, gimme more.

Gene has grabbed the world of baseball the way no one else has in a long time. This book is outstanding and should be a must for all baseball or for that matter sports junkies. Way to go Gene and keep it up

i read this book in about a day and a half. loved it! i'm a total seamhead, baseball freak, so i was totally into it. i've read a lot of baseball novels, but this one had one of the best plots and one of the most surprising endings ive ever seen. i'd definately reccomend it to anybody who loves baseball.

I'm from Chicago_have even had some beers in the bar the author writes about. I don't like the Cubs, but I loved this book. Yeah, OK, it takes some shots at the Sox, but in a good way. The main character is hilarious, the sportswriting and baseball stuff seems authentic, and the ending was very cool.
Harry Caray would have loved it

Very funny. Very Cubs. Very Chicago. Very good. I've read Wojciechowski's stuff in ESPN Magazine, but I didn't know he was crazy about baseball. You can tell he knows his stuff. A helluva sports novel.
