To those who happened upon my first missive, welcome back. To the newbies,and passers-by, come on in, sit on down, pour yourself a beer or something and relax. This isn't your usual kind of book and I ain't your usual kind of author, and the OCIOLE isn't your usual kind of institute. The old hands know that the institute is my family, friends, acquaintances, and the poor souls that have happened by at the wrong moment. This edition is all about the Ocean. Don't go in expecting fluffy bunny stuff, that is just not what I'm about. What you are in for is a bit of this, and a smidgen of that, and a whole lot of whatever works along the way. What you do with it is totally up to you. Nothing in here is actually about anything, it is just a collection of stuff and thoughts, a repository of Daveisms if you please. I am glad to have you aboard, but if you don't like the ride feel free to jump ship. If it makes you sea sick take it topside, don't hurl into the wind, keep it off the deck and to yourself.
